Borja Carabante Muntada, delegate of Urbanism, Environment and mobility of the Madrid City Council, has inaugurated the TERMINUSexhibition , which exhibits in the Municipal Library Eugenio Trias of the Spanish capital the first university proposals for the design of the General Urban Development Plan of Madrid (PGOUM).
The sample, which hosts the best Master's Degree Final Projects of the School of Architecture of the University of Navarra, presents twelve projects designed for Madrid: cultural centers in Guindalera, a high performing center in Madrid Nuevo Norte, reception centers in Madrid Río, silos in Navalcarnero, residential in Somosaguas, an aparthotel in Valdecarros; ideas that open discussion on areas and spaces susceptible to remodeling.
The proposals work on plans and real plots of Madrid, trying to provide ideas for remodeling and new creation based on the needs of the city. The future Urban Strategy 360, framework of the proposal, focuses on rethinking the future of Madrid based on housing, urban transformation and sustainability.
The projects are presented after the signature the partnership agreement with the Madrid City Council, by which the University of Navarra joins, along with ten other higher teaching institutions, the design of the new urban strategy of the city. This agreement aims to promote territorial innovation and formulate proposals to achieve a balance between economic development , social integration and sustainability.
Two of the projects presented were exhibited at the inauguration:'Contraste y Cultura', by Alicia Pinto Flores, and'Centro de Acogida para Inmigrantes en Madrid Río', by María Inés Sandoval, and were attended by young people from Madrid schools, who analyzed how a city is transformed through architecture.
The TERMINUS exhibition can be visited until February 24 at the Eugenio Trias Municipal Library, Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 9:00 pm, and Saturdays and Sundays from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm.
