The School of Communication of the University of Navarra has launched a new strategic plan that places professor innovation at the center of its academic proposal . The main novelty is the comprehensive redesign of the Degree in Journalism and the creation of the Degree in Corporate Communication, both planned for the 2026-27 academic year, which respond to the transformations of the sector and the new needs of professional training .

Dean Charo Sádaba explained that "the School is 67 years old and has a consolidated trajectory, but the environment has changed radically. In this context, several interdisciplinary groups of professors have worked for more than a year with rigor, generosity and vision for the future to rediscover together the meaning of what we do and how we do it. As a result of this exercise, the School presented the reports of the new Degrees, which mark a substantial change in the way communication is taught.

The new Degree in Journalism recovers the founding spirit of the center -defending the value of journalism as an essential service for democracy-, while reinforcing the humanistic base and the professional internship . The teaching will be articulated around an integrated essay , similar to that of any media, and incorporates subjects on artificial intelligence, data and audiences, key to the contemporary exercise of the profession.

The Degree in Corporate Communication, on the other hand, responds to the growing demand for specialists capable of managing the identity, reputation and communication of organizations in complex environments. The program is based on more than two decades of experience of the Master's Degree in Political and Corporate Communication and on the trajectory of alumni who already occupy relevant positions in this field.

Innovation also reaches the structure of the training, with the creation of four transversal pathways that can be combined with any of the Degrees, in addition to the Degree in Marketing already underway: Tech and Data, Fashion and Trends, Innovation and Creativity and Global Affairs. These training paths allow students to customize their profile and connect their training with strategic sectors of the industry.

Another major change has been the firm commitment to a more comprehensive teaching model , connected to the needs of the present. To this end, this year the idea of a teaching internship Unit will be implemented to help organize and give coherence to the student 's contact of any Degree with the professional internship .

The dean emphasized that this process "has been possible thanks to the generosity of the professor team, which has been able to leave behind old patterns and work together on a common project ".

The new academic map is part of the School's Strategic Plan, aligned with the 25-30 Strategy of the University of Navarra. Among its priorities are the commitment to journalism, the creation of a transformative educational experience and the consolidation of the School as an international benchmark in programs of study in communication.
