The University of Navarra will inaugurate next year its Master's Degree in Big Data Science. Under the coordination of the Science Unit of data, of the Instituto Cultura y Socedad (ICS), this degree scroll will be taught in executive format (Fridays and Saturdays) at campus in Madrid.

"The digital revolution arising from Big Data implies exciting challenges and opportunities for companies and organizations. Consequently, the labor market increasingly demands professionals with knowledge in this field," explains its director, the Full Professor of Statistics Jesús López Fidalgo.

According to him, this Master's Degree offers a technical and specific, yet very practical program: "It aims to provide professionals with the tools to collect, prepare, clean, analyze, interpret and presentation the results, as well as to lead the implementation of innovative projects.

The faculty includes professors from different Schools and centers of the University -such as the School of Economics, the TECNUN School of Engineering, the research center Applied Medicine, the School of Communication...- and also professionals from renowned companies and institutions, with years of experience in the subject.

The academic plan is divided into four blocks: programming and computing, data analysis, management of projects and work end of Master's Degree. The latter will be offered in companies that have participated in the workshops of degree scroll or in the students' companies of origin, which work in sectors such as consultancy service, banking, telecommunications, insurance, innovation...

"The Master's Degree aims to bring the technological reality closer to the students, so that they have the opportunity to learn first-hand what is being done in the most leading and prestigious companies at an international level," said López Fidalgo.

It is aimed at professionals oriented to data analysis, either in companies, foundations, industry, research... Some of the employment opportunities for which it trains are scientist of data, analyst of data, consultant big data, machine learning engineer, big data developer, business analyst or consultant business engineering, among other positions.
