Next academic year 22-23 the School of Nursing of the University of Navarra will offer at its Campus of postgraduate program in Madrid a new Master's Degree in internship Advanced Nursing in Oncology, aimed at training nursing professionals "who contribute to humanise the attendance and empower the oncology patient and their family, as well as the implementation of complex shared decision-making processes", explains its manager, the professor of the academic centre Navidad Canga.

According to the expert, approach , the programme's focus on the field of oncology is due to the fact that this disease "has become a major health challenge , as it is already one of the most prevalent diseases in terms of health and social impact. Leading nursing in the continuum of care

In this sense, the new Master's Degree will provide professionals with the competences core topic to exercise the role of advanced internship in Nursing. "That is, professionals who are experts in advanced clinical judgement to make decisions in complex cases - which is what frequently occurs in oncological diseases -; who develop the skill research skills to improve processes and propose changes that result in the well-being of patients and their families; experts also in coordination skills and partnership in teams, to improve continuity of care; and with the skill ethics and transformational leadership that facilitates the continuous improvement of the internship clinical ".
