The II Pharmacy and Nutrition Networking Week brings together 104 students from Master's Degree to promote creativity and entrepreneurship.

Laboratorios Roche Farma España gave a course focused on the trends and challenges offered by personalized medicine and how new approaches to diseases impact on the model of research and development (research and development) of new therapies.

The Campus of Pamplona was the setting for the second edition of the Networking Week of the School of Pharmacy and Nutrition, which took place on October 5 and 6 and brought together the 104 students currently studying one of the four programs Master's Degree offered by the center. The purpose of this activity was promote creativity, encourage entrepreneurship and facilitate dialogue with industry experts.

At the opening of the workshop, Rosalía Baena, Vice President of students of the University, shared with the students the main lines of work of the University, especially the research of impact and with focus, one of the axes of the Strategy 2025. In the afternoon, at the University of Navarra Museum, the students participated in an extensive design thinking session led by Teresa Barrio, with whom they learned to express their personal values and their identification with the values of the University with different materials. In addition, they practiced non-verbal communication through art with exercises adapted to their future professional status . 

"We also had a drawing and crafts workshop that played an important role in our visit to the Museum. This part was my favorite, as through creativity and partnership in an artistic project , we were able to get to know each other better among classmates and strengthen our personal bonds," explains Inés Díaz, a student of Master's Degree in management of Pharma-Biotech Companies (MUGEPB). "It was a unique experience that brought together knowledge, skills and personal relationships."

Focus on personalized medicine and digital health.

The second workshop of the Networking Week focused on a course for position for different professionals from Laboratorios Roche Farma España. It is part of the agreement signed last February between the company and the School of Pharmacy and Nutrition, which created a training program for students of postgraduate program aimed at learning first-hand about personalized medicine and how this new approach in the approach to diseases is impacting the model of research and development (research and development) of new therapies.

"Having the opportunity to listen to Roche professionals talk about business and all its aspects was really enriching. It was an open window into the reality of one of the leading companies in the pharmaceutical and biotech industry, and allowed us to get a deeper insight into their corporate culture, their values and their approach on innovation," relates Matteo Marin, also student of MUGEPB.

Thus, the first sessions focused on an introduction to personalized medicine and the development of digital health, at position by Jesús Lavara and Borja Moll, from area of Roche's Personalized Healthcare. In addition, students were introduced to the application of legislation, both current and future, to diagnostics, by María Torija. Finally, Maria Juliana Osorio reviewed the qualities, skills and competencies of profile of professionals that the company looks for in its selection processes, in line with its commitment to research and development of innovative drugs and new diagnostic tools that improve the quality of life and health of patients.

It was a great stimulus of interest to discover that you maintain specific recruitment programs for young people, which underscores your investment in the future of the industry and your commitment to the growth and training of new professionals."
