The Chair of Navarrese Heritage and Art of the School of Philosophy and Letters of the University of Navarra has organized the roundtable "San José en la espiritualidad, las letras y las artes de Navarra", in partnership with the Vicariate of Faith and Culture of the Archbishopric of Pamplona. It will take place next Wednesday, March 17, at 19:00.
The event, which will be held online, will be presided over by Archbishop Francisco Pérez, Archbishop of Pamplona. Also speaking will be Carlos Mata, from the group of research Siglo de Oro (GRISO), and Ricardo Fernández Gracia, director of the Chair de Patrimonio y Arte Navarro. It will be presented by Santiago Cañardo, Vicar of Faith and Culture of the Archbishopric.
As Professor Fernández Gracia has pointed out, "if any saint has undergone a physical and moral transformation since the 16th century, it is St. Joseph. In the Age average, his figure was not relevant, but changed radically during Modernity, where his importance developed in crescendo in liturgy, worship, literature and the visual arts, until his declaration as patron of the Universal Church in 1870".
