"My imperfect family"

12 | 05 | 2023

Francisca Poblete, student of the Master's Degree in Marriage and Family of the University of Navarra and pedagogue of training, has published a book called "Mi familia imperfecta", a journey through which the author opens her soul to us. With the financial aid of a diary that she wrote in real time, she tells us in first person about the serious illness that in 2003 brought her oldest son to the brink of death.

The story, articulated in three parts, begins with "The story of the tsunami" that year in which his son's HUS (Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome) turned his life around in 180 Degrees. Then, in "The passing of the years", she tells us about the major milestones they experienced as a family during that period of much rehabilitation, where there were advances, setbacks, pains and joys. Finally, the third part, "Time to take stock", is written in 2020, during the first months of the COVID 19 pandemic, when he writes down the experiences gained in this journey that is still ongoing. At a time when it is questioned whether the family is the best place to be born and to die, the author is sincere in affirming that living with imperfection in one's own family is the best form of real love to which we are all called.

Francisca will present her book at the University of Navarra, and to the students of Master's Degree in Marriage and Family, during the interdisciplinary presential that will take place from June 5 to 15, 2023.
