Aitor Jiménez, Marta Ciáurriz and Deyo Maeztu, winners of the regional phase of the Biology Olympiad
The University of Navarra hosted the ceremony at submission to award diplomas to the winners and the special accredited specialization to six other participants.
Aitor Jiménez Larrión, from the Instituto Padre Moret; Marta Ciáurriz Gortari, from high school Sagrado Corazón; and Deyo Maeztu Redín, from high school Jesuitas -all from Pamplona- were the winners of the regional phase of the Biology Olympiad, held at the University of Navarra on February 8.
The three of them are students of 2nd year of high school diploma and their classification in the regional phase will allow them to participate in the national test , which will take place in Murcia from March 22 to 25.
On the other hand, during the ceremony, the following six students with the best results also received a special accredited specialization : Diana López Equiza, from high school Carmelitas Vedruna of Pamplona; Maite Perfecto Irigaray, from IES Ribera del Arga, of Peralta; Jordan Morán Martínez, from Liceo Monjardín, of Pamplona; Ángela Sada Urmeneta and Silvia López Sanz, from high school Jesuitas of Pamplona; and Silvia Milagros Solchaga, from high school Sagrado Corazón of the capital of Navarre.
The event was chaired by the Dean of the School of Sciences of the University of Navarra, Ignacio López-Goñi; Alicia Soria Tosantos, of the high school Official Biologists and the delegation of the COB in Navarra and La Rioja; and Luis Rafael Pastor de Luis, of the Management Service and innovation in education of the department of Education of the Government of Navarra.
