Clara Fernández-Ladreda, professor of Art History, teaches her last class

She was honored at a ceremony attended by members of the Office of the Dean, fellow faculty members and students.

"I have always thought that the professor profession is the best in the world. They have been impressive, wonderful years at this University, first as a student and then as a professor". With these words Clara Fernández-Ladreda, professor of Art History at the School of Philosophy and Letters, said goodbye to the University of Navarra. School of Philosophy and Letters.

To the rhythm of Asturian bagpipes, as a nod to her homeland, members of the Office of the Dean, faculty members and students from several graduating classes paid a heartfelt tribute yesterday to Professor Fernández-Ladreda, who was teaching her last class after an academic career spanning more than three decades. "I have had colleagues and students that I do not deserve; they have been truly exceptional. May God repay you all," she said emotionally.

The Dean, Julia Pavón, thanked him on behalf of the School, "for making us better, colleagues and students, being an example of the project of this University, where people are the most important thing".

With a degree in Geography and History and a PhD in History from our University, Clara Fernández-Ladreda has focused her professor and research work on medieval sculpture, especially on Marian imagery, and on Gothic and Romanesque art in Navarre and other regions of Spain. Among his numerous publications are works such as "El retablo de las Navas de Tolosa de la catedral de Pamplona", or "El claustro y dependencias canonicales de la catedral de Pamplona: arquitectura y escultura". He has also directed several doctoral thesis , has participated in academic tribunals and has curated several exhibitions.
