The Science Museum of the University of Navarra inaugurates the exhibition "Insects. Everything they tell".

The Science Museum of the University of Navarra opens next Friday, October 18 at 1 p.m. the exhibition "Insects. Everything they tell" and will remain at the Sciences Building of the University of Navarra until November 28.

Through exhibition visitors will be able to peek into the life of insects: from their amazing shapes and colors to the complex adaptations that allow them to thrive in different habitats.

"The specimens of real insects exhibited belong to the collections of the Museum of Zoology (MZNA). Some are part of the collection of research, but others come from donations deposited in the Museum, for example, from the Sabino Díaz de Cerio Donation or the Zudaire Donation," says Enrique Baquero, Deputy Director of the Science Museum University of Navarra.

The space is designed to guide visitors through a coherent narrative, mixing information panels and graphics with projections, terrariums, magnifying glasses and insect boxes, and other interactive elements that contribute to enrich the experience. The exhibition has easy-to-read texts, 3D pieces to touch, workshops adapted to special educational needs and audio guides available for blind people.

"This exhibition is tailored to diverse audiences, accessible and engaging for audiences of different ages, educational levels and abilities. We have sought to make exhibition a welcoming learning place for everyone," says Marie-Anne Reynell, director of development at the University of Navarra Science Museum.

The sample can be visited free of charge at schedule from Monday to Friday from 2 pm to 8 pm and on Saturdays from 9 am to 2 pm. School visits will take place from Monday to Friday at schedule from 9:00 am to 1:30 pm prior to registration.

Activities around the exhibition

In addition to visits and workshops for schools, the Science Museum has organized various workshops for all audiences on this topic. Thus, on October 25 and 26 family workshops have been organized on "invertebrate arthropods" to be given by the entomologist Sergi Romeu. On November 2 and 23, children can enjoy crafts on insects, and on November 9, María Paz Peña, Professor of Nutrition at the University of Navarra, and the cook Carmen Cobreros will give the cooking workshop: "Edible insects: are they safe, nutritious and sustainable?

On the other hand, the Museum has organized a cycle dedicated to explore the relationship between science and biodiversity through film and specialized talks under the degree scroll "Science and Biodiversity". On November 12 the documentary"The Caretakers" will be screened with a subsequent colloquium ; on November 14 the biologist Lorena Escuer will give a talk on "The role of Functional Biodiversity in the urban environment"; and the biologist Manuel Quirós will speak on the 15th about"Biomimicry: regenerative disruptive innovation inspired by Nature".
