Next Saturday, October 20, will take place a festive workshop of volunteer activities to clean the environment of the Sadar River. This initiative is part of a broader project called Sadar Conecta, devised by a group of 5th year students of the Degree of Environmental Sciences.

With the goal to raise awareness and recover this natural space, at the end of last year these students presented the project to the 2018 call for Participatory Budgets of the high school Navarro de Deporte y Juventud. Their idea was the second most voted by citizens and with the economic support obtained different actions have been designed. Specifically, the Public University of Navarra, the city councils of Pamplona and Aranguren, GAN, Fundación Caja Navarra and the Parque Fluvial de la Comarca are also collaborating in the cleaning workshop on the 20th.

The quotation will start at 10 h. with a small training. Participants will be divided into 4 groups that will collect waste in 4 different sections of the river Sadar: Mutilva, UPNA, Pamplona and University of Navarra. This action will end at 12 45 h. with a small lunch at position of Paris 365.

The collected waste will be part, in turn, of the next action of project Sadar Conecta, which consists of the elaboration - at position of the Pamplona artist Alicia Otaegui - of an artistic installation to raise awareness of the need to take responsibility for the waste we generate, which will be placed in the vicinity of the Orfeón Pamplonés park, located next to Avenida Zaragoza.

Registrations to participate in the cleanup workshop will be open until October 17. To sign up, you can send an email to participacionjuvenil@navarra.es or write a Whatsapp message to 650 801 364, indicating name and two surnames, National Identity Card, age, telephone and the stretch of the river in which you want to perform the cleaning. To attend the workshop, it is recommended that participants wear water shoes and clothing and rubber gloves.
