This will be the thesis of the work of End of Master's Degree of María Barraza, student of the Master's Degree in research in Social Sciences (MICS) of the Institute for Culture and Society (ICS) at the University of Navarra.

Through interviews and surveys, the student aims to make a diagnosis of the internal reconciliation policies of Mexican companies that women have to face and "how companies fail to create good practices for the growth of women in management positions," she says.

After studying Humanities and programs of study Social Sciences at the University of Monterrey, the student participated in research projects with several professors, which awakened her interest in research. Afterwards, she worked at a venture capital signature in Mexico, where she outlined the topic on which she wanted to do research. "Only 16% of equity firms have at least one woman on their investment team," she laments.

The Mexican woman is studying the pathway geo-demography program at MICS thanks to a scholarship from the Social Trends Institute. She considers the program very enriching as its courses are very interdisciplinary. In addition, she is grateful for the experience because of the classmates and professors she has met and the lessons they have given her, which have exceeded her expectations of what Master's Degree would be like.
