Nearly 80 students from Navarre took part in the 11th Olympiad of Philosophy held at the University.

The students of high school diploma and ESO, belonging to 12 educational centers, have reflected on transhumanism.

A total of 79 students from high school diploma and 4th year of ESO, from 12 schools in Navarre, took part in the 11th Olympiad of Philosophy, held at the University of Navarre. The students competed in two categories: essay and philosophical photography.

In the test of essay, the 60 young people who submitted entries had to reflect on transhumanism and whether this phenomenon represents an improvement or the end of the human species. In the philosophical photography modality 19 proposals were submitted.

The participating schools were: San Ignacio, Escolapios Calasanz, San Cernin, Nuestra Señora del Huerto, Sagrado Corazón, Eunate BHI, IES Ibaialde, IES Navarro Villoslada, IES place de la Cruz, IES Benjamín de Tudela, Luis Amigó and the Escuela de Arte y Superior de design de Corella.

Some of the objectives of the Olympiad at Philosophy are to encourage young people to reflect, think critically and engage in dialogue, and to consolidate and complement the content of philosophical subjects. It also seeks to establish links between the teachers of Philosophy in Navarre and to create spaces for speech between the teaching upper and secondary teaching .

The Olympiad is supported by the sponsorship of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences and with the partnership of Kukuxumusu, the publishing house ChairThe Olympiad has the support of Kukuxumusu, Librerías Troa, the department de Education of the Government of Navarre, and the high school Oficial de Doctores y Licenciados de Navarra.

The submission awards ceremony will take place at the University of Navarra on 1 April.
