1,360 productions participate in the III edition of #LabMeCrazy! Science Film Festival

Finalists will be announced in early September and the winners on February 24, 2022, at the awards gala submission .

1,360 productions from 104 countries have been submitted to the III edition of #LabMeCrazy! Science Film Festival, competition , an international scientific film festival organized by the Science Museum University of Navarra. Among the participants are productions from countries on five continents, such as the United States, Italy, Turkey, Argentina, Brazil, United Kingdom, Spain, France, Canada, Egypt, South Africa, Algeria, Tanzania, Iran, India, Taiwan, Indonesia, Australia and China.

Some of the Science topics that the participants have addressed in their films range from Geology, Botany, Astronomy, Mathematics, Ecology, Nutrition, Neurology, Medicine, Conservation, Climate Change, Biomedicine, and Technology, among others.

Welcome Leon"We are very happy because this year we have once again surpassed issue of productions in competition and countries of origin. We are fortunate to have films from all over the world, which greatly enriches our festival.. And just as important as that extraordinary number is the fact that we have films that have been made by some of the best producers internationally. Many of them are amazing films," he notes. The finalists will be announced in early September and the official jury will determine the winners in each category of the festival: documentary or report; television program; video for the web or social networks; student production; and work produced or co-produced by a university. The festival also includes two other awards: the award of the public and the award Pasión por la Ciencia (Passion for Science).

This jury multidisciplinary will be formed by Rebeca Fernández, sales director of Off the Fence (The Netherlands); filmmaker Jaime Jacobsen (United States); Mónica González, student of doctorate at the University of Navarra; scientist and popularizer Lluís Montoliu; and Samuel Negredo, professor at School of Communication at the University of Navarra.

The III edition of this international scientific film competition will be held from February 21 to 24, 2022 at the Museum of the University of Navarra and will include a program of parallel scientific activities.

"Our festival is like a fireworks display: it can be enjoyed in a short time and in an intense way but it requires a lot of preparation. So the entire festival team is already working to ensure that the films and scientific activities we will be offering in February will surprise and interest all subject audiences."

#LabMeCrazy! partnership Science Film Festival is an international science film festival competition , promoted by the Science Museum of the University of Navarra -with the support of Laboral Kutxa, Government of Navarra, Pamplona City Council, the Ministry of Science and Innovation and the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT)-, which aims to bring science to new generations with a current view of the knowledge scientific goal .
