Oscar Mariné Big Bang is the degree scroll of the designer Óscar Mariné's sample . The degree scroll alludes to an explosion, to an expansive movement of images that unites very diverse fields and techniques.

Mariné is a multifaceted artist, a tireless maker of images with multiple and inexhaustible resources. He grew up to the rhythm of the music of the sixties and early seventies, ready to appropriate the visual resources of cinema, comics, cathode tube television and leave definition, posters and illustrated magazines. His visual and conceptual training draws from the same sources as group of artists who have come to be known as "The Picture Generation" (the generation of images), with the addition of references to their local culture that will make it unique and recognizable. Mariné, an author who finds his particular inspiration source in popular culture, develops a cultured and refined language, integrating street elements of the emerging youth culture of the eighties, with those recognized as high graphic and conceptual culture. This is the work of a pioneer of the renovation of design in Spain, which has benefited filmmakers, musicians, newspaper and magazine editors, architecture programs of study and countless manufacturers of elements necessary for modern life, who found in this artist their "contemporary" vehicle of communication. During the last thirty years Mariné has developed his images with an overwhelming spirit.

Óscar Mariné Brandi began working in the field of image in Madrid in the eighties. He first worked as a music producer and distributor, a work that led him to design album covers, T-shirts and posters for bands. He soon expanded his field to the world of publishing house, as artistic director of the magazine Madrid me mata. Since then, Mariné has developed an extensive professional career that has led him to work with designs and image campaigns for global clients such as Absolut Vodka, Camper, Swatch or Foster and Partners, as well as in editorial projects such as the redesign of the newspaper El País or the magazine C Photo for Ivory Press. In 2010 he received the award Nacional de design.

This is not an anthological sample of the work of the OMB studio.but a set of very diverse materials that show the work of Óscar Mariné as an independent author: paintings, printed images, typographic works, abstract compositions, photographs, video and pieces from design from different periods. Images that make up a universe staff, in which the various elements contribute their part to form a greater unity. Thus, this exhibition-installation has been realized by Mariné ex profeso for the Museum. and is composed of pieces produced mostly for the occasion, many of them unpublished and others from the reworking of previous works.
