The Museum brings to its exhibition halls the reading in Basque of the most representative scenes of "Hamlet".

This production pays tribute to William Shakespeare on the 400th anniversary of his death. The reading is part of the "Classics at the Museum" theater series, which this year celebrates its second edition.

One of the rooms of the exhibition "The Collection of María Josefa Huarte: abstraction and modernity"."The Museum has become the stage for a dramatized reading in Basque of the most representative scenes from "Hamlet"one of the most influential tragedies of Western literature. The Museum thus joins the many tributes to the British author William Shakespeare on the 400th anniversary of his death.

The show has counted with a cast of actors with a long career in television and film as Eneko Sagardoy who will be Prince Hamlet, Josean Bengoetxea who will play Claudius and the specter of King Hamlet, Aitor Merino characterized as Polonius and also Laertes, Miren Gaztañaga as Ophelia, and Maiken Beitia as Gertrude. All these characters will lead the spectator through the depths of one of Shakespeare's most emblematic plays.

The dramaturgy and stage direction, at position by Liuba Cid, curator of "Clásicos en el Museo", has counted in this reading with the help of the actor Josean Bengoetxea from San Sebastian, partnership .

This production is part of the second edition of the "Classics at the Museum" theater series.Classics at the Museum", which this year expands its proposal with medium and large format theatrical performances for all audiences, conferences and literary wine tastings.
