Tesicnor and the BIOMA Institute, selected as pilot in the TwIN Govtech Integrated Environmental management challenge

On September 17, the awards ceremony of TwIN Govtech, the open innovation program that connects the technology and creativity of the entrepreneurial ecosystem with the needs of the public sector, was held in Pamplona. Together with the Pamplona City Council and companies from the Navarre ecosystem, eight major urban challenges were defined which, after a selection process, are now transformed into real pilot projects based on digital twins.
Among them, the proposal presented by Tesicnor and the BIOMA Institute of the University of Navarra was chosen as a pilot in the Integral Environmentalmanagement challenge . The challenge posed a core topic: how to manage the environmental cycle in an integrated manner to anticipate climate risks, improve urban conditions and protect the health of citizens?
"This challenge is crucial because it aims to work comprehensively on air quality, climate risks and their impacts on public health," said David Elustondo, scientific director of the BIOMA Institute, in his discussion paper at the event. "We are especially excited to be able to develop this pilot in Pamplona. There is nothing like contributing to the development of your city and improving the quality of life in your environment", added David.
Our joint proposal was recognized for its ability to integrate environmental data from different sources and scales, apply them to risk prediction and facilitate decision-making for the welfare of Pamplona and its citizens. With this recognition, the idea does not remain on paper: it takes the leap to reality and becomes a pilot that will be test in the city, generating learning and value for future scales.
Beyond technology, this achievement reflects the work and enthusiasm of the people who have made the proposal possible. Professionals from Tesicnor and the BIOMA Institute have combined knowledge, experience and commitment to respond to a city challenge with an innovative and human approach , convinced that digital transformation must always be at the service of society.
