The Chair de Patrimonio y Arte Navarro of the School de Philosophy y Letras of the University of Navarra has published the book "Vestir la autoridad. Attributes of power and municipal representation in Navarre". Written by Alejandro Aranda, graduate and with a PhD in History from the academic centre, it was presented last Monday, 22 November, at the Nuevo Casino in Pamplona.
goal Sponsored by the Government of Navarre, the publication deals with the history and meaning of different elements used by Navarre's town councils since the 16th century, such as rods, council robes, maces, canopies or scallops, with the aim of building their protocol and enhancing their institutional image.
The monograph maintains the format and design of the works that the Chair has dedicated in recent years to Navarrese jewellery; the house and domestic space; and the chapel of San Fermín in the Navarrese capital. As with all of them, it also has a digital version that can be consulted and download free of charge on the website of the Chair de Patrimonio y Arte Navarro.
The presentation was attended by its author, Alejandro Aranda; Pilar Lostao, Vice President of International Office of the academic center; Ana Burusco, general director of Universities of the Government of Navarre; and Mercedes Galán, deputy director of the Chair of Heritage and Art of Navarre.
