Roche Farma and the University address advances in innovation and digitization of the healthcare system
The workshop 'Focused' allows managers of both entities and students of postgraduate program to analyze the progress in healthcare innovation through new Digital Health tools and artificial intelligence.

Experts from Roche Farma and the School of Pharmacy and Nutrition of the University of Navarra have addressed in Madrid, at the framework of the workshop 'Focused' aimed at students of postgraduate program, the most recent advances in innovation and digitization in the healthcare system, sharing knowledge and experiences on issues core topic that are transforming the field of healthcare attendance .
During the session, different Roche Farma specialists discussed various aspects of therapeutic innovation, the development of digital health solutions and the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on healthcare.
"This meeting has allowed us to foster the exchange of ideas with the University of Navarra and its students at postgraduate program and to explore lines of partnership for development solutions that benefit both healthcare professionals and patients," explained Rita Casas, Roche Farma's regional director for the Northeast area , who was in charge of opening the session on behalf of the company.
In her speech, Rita Casas focused on Roche's commitment to innovation and research, where the company maintains a leading role in Spain: in 2023 it invested 148.9 million euros in research and development+i, of which 60.7 million euros went to research clinical and basic. As a result, 343 active clinical trials on 86 molecules involving 164 hospitals, more than a thousand healthcare professionals and more than 10,000 patients were promoted. Oncohematology, immunotherapy, neurosciences and rare diseases are the main areas where this research activity is focused.
For his part, the Associate Dean of postgraduate program of the School of Pharmacy and Nutrition, Juan Manuel Irache, thanked Roche for its commitment to training and highlighted the benefits of this cooperation: "conference such as this one highlights the closeness of our School with the industry and the field of research, which allows us to offer an academic training of excellence, always updated and relevant. This link not only enriches our students' learning, but also facilitates their employment rate, by equipping them with the skills and knowledge demanded by a constantly evolving professional environment."
