The University of Navarra launches a new Master's Degree in management of Pharma-Biotech Companies

The postgraduate program will be held in Madrid at partnership with IESE Business School and includes 9 months of paid internships.

The School of Pharmacy and Nutrition of the University of Navarra will offer, starting next September, a new Master's Degree in management of Pharma-Biotech Companies. The program joins two other postgraduate programs of the School in the field of medicine, where it has accumulated almost 30 years of partnership with companies in the sector.

This Master's Degree will be held at the University's new headquarters in Madrid at postgraduate program and will be hosted by partnership of IESE Business School. Its purpose is aimed at training recent graduates, preferably in the health sciences. Specifically, in thehealthcare area of Pharma-Biotech companies, which is currently leading the research in 7,000 new treatments worldwide against cardiovascular diseases, cancer, etc.

With a total of 90 credits ECTS credit, the Master's Degree includes 8 subjects and half of the credits correspond to 9 months of paid internships in companies. This year, the postgraduate program - which requires attendance and full-time- offers 40 places. In addition, academic staff will be available from the University, IESE and other professionals in the pharmaceutical sector.

In the opinion of the dean of the School of Pharmacy and Nutrition, Adela López de Cerain, this master's degree "is the perfect complement for those who want to develop professionally in the healthcare industry, by giving access to a deep and complete knowledge of all business areas and allowing them to face real market situations through the case method".

The professor of Toxicology adds that the pharma-biotech sector "is demanding professionals with excellent scientific and business training , who have developed skills such as resilience, flexibility, speed of adaptation and action, negotiation skills and partnership, global vision, analysis and decision making". "Our postgraduates will thus be able to join teams in areas as diverse as Medical Manager, Clinical Trials, Regulatory, Market Access, Patents, Corporate Marketing, Business Intelligence, etc.".

The new Master's Degree completes the offer of postgraduate courses of the School aimed at the pharmaceutical industry: the Master's Degree in research, development and Drug Innovation (MIDI) and the Master's Degree in design Galenic and Manufacturing in the Pharmaceutical Industry (MDGFI).

With this program, the University of Navarra now offers eleven master's degrees at campus in Madrid. The offer in the capital is completed with postgraduate degrees in Architecture; Banking and Financial Regulation; Personnel Management Service in Organizations; management of Communication Companies; Corporate Reputation; Double Master's Degree of Access to the Legal Profession; advisory service Fiscal; Law of business; Fashion Business Management; and Industrial Engineering. The launching of new Degrees and master's degrees responds to the University's efforts to improve the quality of the offer professor, framed in its Horizon 2020 strategy.
