The president of Club Atlético Osasuna, Luis Sabalza, and the president of the University of Navarra, María Iraburu, have signed a partnership agreement for the creation of the "Campus Osasuna-Universidad de Navarra".

This Campus has as goal to offer activities and training courses in different areas such as management sports, health and sport, attendance specialized health in the field of sports, communication and sport, technology and sport, and Education and sport. The offer will be progressively expanded and both Osasuna and the University of Navarra hope that this training will contribute to improve the professional performance and employability of a large number of people issue .

The courses will have the academic certification of the University of Navarra, and will have different formats and duration depending on the subject matter and the target audience.

María Iraburu, president of the University, expressed her satisfaction: "Osasuna and the University of Navarra have a long history of partnership, through the health care of the team that carries out our Clinic. Now we are taking another step forward in the field of teaching. With this agreement we want to promote, hand in hand with Osasuna, activities and programs of training related to sports".

For his part, Luis Sabalza, president of Club Atlético Osasuna, expressed his excitement at the birth of project. "With the signature of this agreement we make the leap to the academic world to train top professionals in the field of sports and we do it in addition to the hand of one of the most prestigious universities in the world as is the University of Navarra. The union of our knowledge from the world of sports and our passion with the experience and educational quality of the University of Navarra can only be a formula for success".

History of the partnership

The partnership in activities of training is not new between Osasuna and the University. For several years now, students from Degree have had the opportunity to be trained through professional internships at the club. Students from School Communication have been the most common, but recently students from Psychology and Pedagogy, and those from ISSA School of Applied Management have also benefited.

This academic year 23-24, other avenues have been opened at partnership in the training for university students with more innovative projects such as the elaboration of proposals for the construction of the new sports city of Tajonar by students in the 3rd year of Architecture. With the creation of the "Campus Osasuna-University of Navarra" these activities will be integrated into the agreement.

The agreement extends the lines of partnership of Osasuna with the University of Navarra, whose medical center, the Clínica Universidad de Navarra, is already the official medical service since the 2016-17 season.
