Volkswagen Navarra supports the project "financial aid a tu report, dale jaque mate alzhéimer" by the CIMA

It is one of the 5 awarded social initiatives proposed by the factory workers through the program "Tu project Solidario".

Volkswagen Navarra has given 5,000 euros to research center Applied Medicine (CIMA) of the University of Navarra to support the development of project "financial aid toyour report, checkmate Alzheimer's". This is one of the five social projects awarded, out of 31 submitted, proposed and chosen by the factory's workers. Along with CIMA, other initiatives of GERNA (group Rare Diseases of Navarra), association Down Syndrome, association Navarra Autism and Friends of the Sahara have also been selected.

The proposal of CIMA, sponsored at business by Pedro Unanua García (Painting), received 379 votes. Javier Viñeta, director of development Institutional of CIMA, was surprised by the support received: "From our center we have been insisting a lot in recent years on the research of Alzheimer's disease. To receive this support in a business like this is incredible".

This is the motto of the I International Solidarity Tournament organized by CIMA in partnership with association of relatives of Alzheimer's patients of Navarra (AFAN), the Spanish Chess Federation, the Obra Social "la Caixa" and the Caja Navarra Foundation. It will be held on July 2nd and 3rd in Pamplona and it is addressed to all the public since the categories include players from 5 years old and upwards. According to Mariano de Pablos, manager of project and director of the tournament, "This is the most important solidarity tournament organized in Europe and all for a good cause: research of such a devastating disease for patients and families as Alzheimer's".

Within its brand Volkswagen Navarra Solidaria, the business Navarra has been articulating numerous corporate social responsibility (CSR) actions, initiatives that put the eyes on others and that serve to help, in different ways, groups in our community. One of them is "Your Solidarity project ", which in its second edition has allowed submit 5,000 euros to each of the five projects that have received more support from workers.
