Students and professors of the inter-facultypathway of high school Core Curriculum attended the V Lesson The ends of the Education entitled "Wisdom in times of change", given by the professor of the School of Theology, Francisco Varo.

Professor Varo, specialist in Sacred Scripture, director of research of the School of Theology and author of several works of knowledge dissemination on the Bible, raised the need to educate in wisdom in today's world in crisis and constant changes.

"How can I be happy, not only with ephemeral moments of pleasurable escape from reality, but in a stable and serene way, with a joy that flows from all the activities of my life and accompanies me forever?" Faced with this human question, Varo recommended reading the Classics, literary works that have helped many people to orient themselves with a deeper reflection based on experience and the same reason that relentlessly seeks the truth. "The Bible is the classic par excellence of Western culture," he noted, encouraging us to look at the Bible "with new eyes and creative curiosity."

Through three specific periods in the history of the People of Israel, of migratory, moral, social and political crises, he explained how the biblical teachings collected in those three moments (the book of Proverbs, the book of Qoheleth and the Gospels), contributed to illuminate those situations, resorting to wisdom as a factor of reflection and a driving force for reforms.

The Lesson "The aims of the Education" is an annual lecture , organized by the high school Core Curriculum in order to reflect on the mission statement of the university and the current challenges of the Education higher education.
