Mariano Crespo, Associate Dean , teaching , from the School of Humanities and Social Sciences

president has appointed Mariano Crespo asAssociate Dean of teaching , School of Humanities and Social Sciences, replacing Cristina Tabernero.

Mariano Crespo is Full Professor in Philosophy. He holds a master's degree ( graduate , 1989) and a doctorate (doctor, 1995) in Philosophy from the Complutense University of Madrid. He was a professor at the Internationale Akademie für Philosophie in the Principality of Liechtenstein (IAP) and at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. At the former, he earned his "Habilitation" (Degree , postdoctoral qualification).

In 2013, he began his career at the university as a researcher at the Institute for Culture and Society (ICS). In 2018, he joined the faculty of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences. Since its inception in the 2022–23 academic year and to date, he has served as an academic director for theMaster's Degree in Christianity and Contemporary Culture.

An author and translator of texts—most of which deal with phenomenological issues—he has published 41 articles. He is the author and/or co publisher of 15 books.

The Faculty’s “ board ” would like to express its gratitude to Cristina Tabernero, a professor at the Spanish National University of Education ( language a Española), for her work over the years as head of the Office of the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs ( Office of Academic Affairs), during a period marked by significant changes in university planning ( subject ) and quality assurance ( professor ) within the Spanish higher education system.

“With academic rigor and dedication, she has successfully planned and directed the work of the “ teaching ” (Quality and Accreditation) Committees within the “ project UNIVERSITAS” (University Quality and Accreditation Office), as well as meticulously managed the complex processes of monitoring and “ assessment ” (accreditation) of degree programs before the “ National Agency for Assessment of Quality and Accreditation ” (National Accreditation Agency). “It is also worth highlighting her sound judgment and ability to work as part of a team, both within the board Executive Board and with the various Departments, whether in managing routine matters or extraordinary issues,” stated Dean Julia Pavón.

“Her involvement staff in strategic projects deserves special accredited specialization recognition, including the launch of the new Degree in language and Literature, her dual Degree with Education in Elementary Education, and the Diploma in Artificial Intelligence, Technology, and Ethics. In addition to other projects that have ensured the quality of our degree programs, drawing on the body of work researcher of our faculty.”
