583 college students are able to attend college thanks to donations from alumni, companies, and institutions

583 students are enrolled at the University of Navarra for the 2026–27 academic year thanks to an Alumni scholarship . Of these, 478 are Spanish nationals (189 from Navarre) and 105 are international students from 23 countries: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Chile, Ecuador, El Salvador, the United States, France, Guatemala, Honduras, Hungary, Italy, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Portugal, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, and Venezuela.

The total funding allocated to the Alumni Scholarships this academic year is 5.6 million euros, and the average amount per financial aid, allocated to enrollment and accommodation, is 9,642 euros.

The academic center held a welcome ceremony for these university students at the classroom Magna of the Central Building. The event was presided over by the Vice President of Students, Rosalía Baena, and featured Jaume Aurell, Full Professor of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences , and researcher of the Institute for Culture and Society; as well as Laia Bononad, an Alumni intern and a fourth-year Applied Management student.

Laia discovered the meaning of being an “ scholarship recipient ” (Alumni) during a “ volunteer activities ” in Kenya last summer: “One wanted to be a doctor. Another, a police officer. Another dreamed of becoming an aeronautical engineer. Another wanted to be a soccer player. And as I listened to them, I thought something that has stayed with me ever since: how difficult it must be to keep dreaming when life has given you so many reasons to stop.” At that moment, she explains, she understood one of the most important aspects of the scholarships: “That someone believes in your future.”

Through this message, the Applied Management student invited the rest of her classmates to live these years at the University of Navarra with the intensity they deserve: “Being scholarship recipient Alumni doesn’t just mean receiving a financial aid or reducing it all to a grade. It means being aware of what we’ve received and knowing how to make the most of it.”

For her part, the Vice President of Estudiantes, Rosalía Baena, also urged the scholarship recipients to keep in mind the privilege they’ve been given: “We want you to put yourselves in ‘ scholarship ’ mode. This, in a way, shapes your identity—who you are and what potential you have—if you make the most of the opportunities the University offers you.”

Finally, the “ Vice President ” encouraged them to make the most of their college years: “Make the most of every minute of your college experience. It’s a great privilege to be scholarship recipient Alumni, and it’s also a responsibility.”

2,451 students have benefited from the program

The " Alumni Scholarships " program was launched in 2003 with the " goal "—the vision that any talented student should be able to attend the University. Since then, 2,451 students have benefited from this program, which is supported by contributions from companies, friends of the University, the " alumni ," and other individuals and institutions committed to the University of Navarra’s “ project .”
