The School of Humanities and Social Sciences and the Generalfile t of the University of Navarra have launched a website ( exhibition ) dedicated to Ernestina de Champourcin, the Lyceum Club, and the poets of the Generation of ’27. This initiative is part of the commemorative activities marking the centennial of the Women’s Lyceum Club and the Generation of ’27, organized by the Ministry of Culture.

Under the degree scroll , “Without them, the photo isn’t complete,” the “ sample ” takes as its starting point the iconic photograph taken in 1927 at the headquarters of the Ateneo de Sevilla during the third centennial of Góngora’s death—considered the “foundational ‘certificate ’” of the “ group”—in which only male poets appeared. Through a symbolic reconstruction of the photo—by adding women to it—the project aims to goal address the neglect of female authors and highlight their core topic role in the cultural modernization of the 1920s and 1930s.

The “ exhibition ” focuses on the women poets of the Generation of ’27, but also features other women writers and artists; a special highlight is the extensive “ sample ” of original materials from Ernestina de Champourcin’s “ bequest .” Champourcin, who, along with Josefina de la Torre, is one of only two women included in Gerardo Diego’s anthology, stood out for her work as a poet and literary critic, as well as for her efforts to foster support networks among women writers in Spain and Latin America. She was also, beginning in 1928, an active member of the Lyceum Club Femenino, where she worked closely with Pilar de Zubiaurre at the helm of the Literature section.

The “ sample,” organized by Inés Irurita of the General file t of the University of Navarra and Rosa Fernández Urtasun, professor of Contemporary Literature at the university, combines informational panels and display cases featuring documentary material from the Ernestina de Champourcin Collection, which is housed in the General file t of the University of Navarra.

The panels are organized around three major thematic areas: the integration of women into cultural life in the 1920s and 1930s and the role played by the Lyceum Club Femenino in promoting this integration; the emergence of the Generation of ’27; and the female poets of this generation, with a special focus on Ernestina de Champourcin, Concha Méndez, Carmen Conde, and Josefina de la Torre.

The display cases feature original documents that offer insight into the intellectual and personal networks of the era. Among them are letters from writers such as Carmen Conde, Concha Méndez, Luis Cernuda, and Antonio Machado; books with dedications by Rafael Alberti, Vicente Aleixandre, and Jorge Guillén; manuscripts by Juan Ramón Jiménez; and more. Several display cases are dedicated to Ernestina de Champourcin’s * bequest *. Through letters, memoirs, original drafts of poems, and photographs—among other materials—visitors can discover aspects of her literary career and her active participation in the cultural life of her time.

The " exhibition," open to the public, is on display in the lobby of the " Main Library " at the University of Navarra. Guided tours and workshops are also offered for secondary schools and high school diploma, with the aim of goal providing supplementary tools related to the ESO and PAU curricula; an educational guide has been created specifically for these students.

Starting in January 2027, the panels will be on display at the General Library of Navarre and subsequently at various local libraries within the Navarre Public Library network .

In addition, the " exhibition " can also be visited virtually.
