The professor at the University of Navarra has done research in the field of fluid instabilities.
graduate in Physical Sciences from the University of Zaragoza (1991), did the doctorate at the University of Navarra, and later, in the 1995-1996 academic year, was appointed Associate Professor. Since then he has taught subjects of Degree, Master's Degree and doctorate in the areas corresponding to mathematics and physics at the Schools of Science, Pharmacy and Medicine and at the Schools of Architecture and Engineering.
The research of Professor Burguete is marked by instabilities in fluids. The last project he is directing, funded by the Ministry of Science and Innovation, focuses on turbulence and magnetohydrodynamics.
He has published more than forty papers and holds a patent on a verification system in radiotherapy. He has directed four doctoral thesis , one of them with award Extraordinary of doctorate. As visiting professor he has worked at the École Normale Supérieure de Lyon and the Universities of Paris-Sud 11, Libre de Bruxelles, Autónoma de México and Autónoma de San Luis Potosí (Mexico). Between 1998 and 2000 he worked at the Commisariat à l'Energie Atomique (CEA) in Saclay (France).
He has been director of the doctoral program "Instabilities in Dissipative Systems" and director of the department of Physics and Applied Mathematics. In addition, he regularly collaborates with groups at the Clinic, mainly in radiation oncology and otorhinolaryngology.
