The ICS co-organizes a workshop of discussion citizen on the challenges of the European Union.

It takes place on Friday, August 30 at the Public University of Navarra and the University of Navarra and is open to anyone interested, prior registration on line.

The Institute for Culture and Society (ICS) of the University of Navarra and the Instituto I-Communitas(Institute for Advanced Social Research-Instituto de research Social Avanzada) of the Public University of Navarra will host on Friday, August 30 a workshop of discussion citizen entitled "Let's talk about Europe with foundation, knowledge and emotion. development of fundamental rights and European citizenship"

The initiative is promoted by committee Navarro of the European Movement with funding from committee Federal of the European Movement and the administrative office of State for the European Union of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation.

This meeting aims to be a participatory process of reflection of citizens on the possibilities and challenges of the new political and institutional stage that opens in the ninth legislature of the European Parliament (2019-2024). The program of the session, free of charge prior registration "online", is available for its enquiry on the Internet.

Although the workshop is eminently academic, it will also include representatives of people, entities or groups called to play a special role in the current legislature of the European Parliament: migrants, people with disabilities, representatives of the rural world and the elderly, and economic and labor agents.

The debates will deal with the development of fundamental rights and European citizenship, based on previous documentation, testimonies of its protagonists and contributions from leading university specialists. Their conclusions, together with those of the debates held in nine other autonomous communities, will be included in a publication that will be presented at congress of the Deputies and then transferred to the European Parliament.

The meeting will open at 9.30 a.m. at conference room Ada Byron (basement of the Encinas building at campus of Arrosadia of the UPNA, where the morning session will be held. The campus of the University of Navarra will host the afternoon session and the closing ceremony.
