Diego Maza is graduate in Physics from the National University of San Luis (Argentina) and PhD in Science from the University of Navarra. He has been a professor at department of Physics and Applied Mathematics since 1995, where he has also carried out extensive research work. Currently, he directs the group of Granular Media at the University and actively participates in different national and international research networks.

Héctor Mancini leaves his position after more than a decade dedicated intensively to promote the research quality Basic Sciences and the dialogue between disciplines. Under his direction, several research laboratories in different areas of the physical sciences were launched, in some of which he still continues to work closely with his students. His concern for dialogue has led him to collaborate intensively with the group of research on Science, Reason and Faith (CRYF), where some of his works on the confines and evolution of the universe permanently attract the attention of the most varied public.
