In view of the approaching feast of San Fermín, the Chair of Heritage and Navarrese Art of the School of Philosophy and Letters of the University of Navarra has organised a cycle on the figure of the saint and the ceremonial of the festivities that the city organises in his honour. It will take place on Tuesday 28 and Wednesday 29 June, at 5.30 p.m., in the chapel of San Fermín in the parish church of San Lorenzo.
On Tuesday 28th, Francisco Javier Leoz, parish priest of San Lorenzo, and Ricardo Fernández Gracia, director of the Chair de Patrimonio y Arte Navarro, will present the cycle. José Luis Molins, former archivist of Pamplona City Council (1975-10) and member of the Chair, will then give the session "The primitive burial of San Fermín Mártir and Bishop, Apostle of Picardy, in Abladene (Amiens)". The workshop on Wednesday 29th will be dedicated to the ceremonial around the saint patron saint, with a session at position by Alejandro Aranda, PhD in History from the University of Navarra and Cultural Heritage technician of the Archbishopric of Pamplona.
The attendance to the event is free. For prevention reasons, the use of a mask is recommended.
