New agreement between the University and the Latin American association of Political Consultants

The agreement seeks to reinforce the training of the sector's professionals in the region.

The School of Communication of the University of Navarra and the Latin American association of Political Consultants (ALACOP) have signed a partnership agreement for the joint development of activities and training events, among other initiatives.

The consultancy service of political communication, both in electoral campaigns and in government institutions, requires specific academic and professional training . This has a positive impact on democratic societies, while raising ethical standards and service to citizens. Both institutions have a shared vision on the mission statement of consultancy service and the need to train its professionals. 

Carlos Barrera, academic director of the Master's Degree in Political and Corporate Communication (MCPC), said that "with this signature, the Master's Degree reaffirms its presence in Latin America and promotes the continuous training of working professionals and future professionals in a sector in constant evolution". 

Nidia Paulino, the president of ALACOP, has stated that "the mission statement of the association is to consolidate itself as the main reference for political consultancy service in Latin America. We are convinced that in order to achieve these goals, it is important to collaborate with strong institutions such as the University of Navarra, whose academic excellence and commitment to the training of global leaders reinforce the strategic pillars of our organization and open new opportunities for cooperation, research and professional development for our associates".  

The goal the agreement is to generate synergies between both institutions and to broaden the partnership between the professional sectors of political communication in Spain and Latin America.

About the School of Communication of the University of Navarra

The School of Communication is a pioneer in research and programs of study on Journalism and Public Opinion. Since 1958, it has been developing its research and professor activities in Pamplona, and since 2018 in Madrid, where it offers two postgraduate programs on Political and Corporate Communication, with a specialization program in Public Affairs, and on the management of Communication Companies. Of the 21 graduating classes of the MCPC, its more than 400 graduates are mostly Spanish and from practically all the countries of Latin America, where they work.

About the Latin American association of Political Consultants (ALACOP)

Since 1986, the Latin American association of Political Consultants (ALACOP) brings together professionals dedicated to research, analysis and support of democratic and electoral processes in Latin America, contributing to the training of political leaders in the techniques of political communication and government relations. To this end, it works regularly with universities and public and private institutions. 

ALACOP creates inclusive initiatives that promote social responsibility and citizen participation in order to foster respect for the political and electoral rights of citizens and the quality of democracy in Latin America.
