The congress Annual Meeting of the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Sciences (EUFEPS) was the focal point meeting of the academic community of the European pharmaceutical industry from May 31 to June 2 in Lisbon. Under the chairmanship of the School Professor of Pharmacy and Nutrition Maria Blanco, this event brought together leading professionals and experts from all over Europe who, for three days, exchanged knowledge on the latest developments and challenges in the sector.

One of the highlights was the skill to award the best European thesis , in which Souhaila El Moukhtari, from the department of Technology and Chemistry Pharmaceuticals of the University of Navarra, won the second award among 11 participating countries. Her thesis , focused on the development of nanomedicines for the treatment of pediatric neuroblastoma, impressed the audience and jury alike.

In addition, Dr. Elisa Garbayo, Ramón y Cajal researcher at the same department, was awarded the award "WIPS" (Woman in Pharmaceutical Sciences) for her lecture on cardiac regeneration after myocardial infarction using nanomedicine.

"The EUFEPS Annual congress in Lisbon was a testament to the power of partnership and the commitment to the pursuit of scientific breakthroughs in the European pharmaceutical industry," said Maria Blanco.

A platform to foster collaborations

The EUFEPS congress was not only a forum for scientific update , but also a platform to establish connections and foster collaborations between professionals from various fields, including academia and the pharmaceutical industry. Networking was an essential part of the event, allowing the creation of strategic alliances for future projects and advances in the industry. To this end, the different scientific societies that make up the EUFEPS, including the Spanish SEFIG(Sociedad Española de Farmacia Industrial y Galénica, also chaired by María Blanco), played an important role in the organization of scientific sessions.

In addition, Professor Blanco thanked all the collaborators and sponsors, especially CINFA, whose generous contribution was fundamental for the realization of the event, "a business recognized for its commitment to pharmaceutical innovation, such as sponsor, highlighting its commitment to research and development in this field".
