Dr. José A. Obeso, director of the laboratory of Movement Disorders of the research center Applied Medicine (CIMA) of the University of Navarra, has obtained the accreditation as Full Professor of Medicine, granted by the National Agency of assessment and accreditation (National Agency for Assessment of Quality and Accreditation).

graduate and MD from the University of Navarra, Dr. Obeso spent two years at the department of Neurology at the Institute of Psychiatry in London with Professor C. D. Marsden. In 1982 he returned to the University of Navarra, where he combines his clinical work, as consultant of the department of Neurology of the Clínica Universidad de Navarra, with the research of movement disorders and Parkinson's disease. He was recently appointed publisher of the journal "Movement Disorders" for Europe and Asia. This is the official publication of the Movement Disorders Society, which brings together researchers and clinicians specializing in Parkinson's disease, movement disorders and neurodegenerative diseases.
