Tecnun Welcomes 272 New Freshmen
The Welcome “ workshop ” provides students with the initial guidance they need to successfully navigate their college experience, as well as a “Course 0” math refresher course

This morning, Tecnun welcomed the 272 new students who are beginning their first-year “ programs of study ” at the University of Navarra’s School of Engineering. The Welcome workshop served to introduce them to Tecnun’s “ project ”educational , offer them advice on how to successfully tackle the “ programs of study ,” and showcase the various opportunities available to them during their time at the university, such as sports and cultural activities, volunteer activities, internships, international experiences, and “ research ” projects.
Tecnun’s director , Francisco J. Planes, opened the workshop and thanked the new students for the trust they have placed in the University of Navarra’s project educational program. During his remarks, he explained that college is a “challenging time, but also a time of growth staff and training in all aspects of life,” and that Tecnun’s model educational program seeks to train “excellent engineering professionals,” always focused on improving the environment and making a social impact.
In addition, an orientation session was held for international families, who had the opportunity to tour the school’s facilities and laboratories. Nere Gil-Negrete, the assistant principal of teaching, also explained how the school’s support system and academic work for students are structured.
A Math Prep Course Before Classes Begin
Following the Welcome workshop , the new students have begun Course 0 in Mathematics, which will run through Monday, August 31. Its goal is to reinforce their knowledge of subject before the official start of the academic year, which will take place on Tuesday, September 1, for all Tecnun students, including those in upper-level courses.

It is worth noting that 40% of the new students are from Gipuzkoa, 32% come from the rest of Spain, and 28% come from countries around the world, such as Bolivia, Panama, Colombia, Paraguay, the Dominican Republic, France, Costa Rica, Mexico, Canada, the United States, Venezuela, Peru, Nigeria, Ecuador, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, India, Jordan, Malaysia, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and Turkey. In addition, 33% are women.
