The University hosts the submission awards ceremony for the winners of the Spanish Biology Olympiad.

The eight winners will receive training for the international tests at the School Science and the CIMA

The University of Navarra hosted the submission awards ceremony of the national phase of the Spanish Biology Olympiad (OEB), which was held at the academic center last week.

The students José María Pérez Garrigues (high school San Vicente Ferrer PP. Dominicos, Valencia), Cristina Rodríguez Sanjuán (high school sponsorship San José, Madrid), Tomás Rodríguez Gil (IES Martínez Montañés, Seville) and María Yesares Soto (IES Matemático Puig Adam, Madrid) were the winners of the first award. The four students from high school diploma thus qualify for the international phase, which will take place from July 23 to 30 in Coventry (Great Britain).

The second award went to students Ezequiel Carretero Gil (from IES Nit de L'albà, Alicante), Víctor Haro González-Vico (from IES Juan de Aréjula, Córdoba), Marcos Martínez Jiménez (from IES Alonso Quijano, Madrid) and David Morales Alonso (from IES Monte Naranjo, Oviedo). The four will be able to participate in the Ibero-American Biology Olympiad, to be held in September in the Azores Islands (Portugal).

Two special mentions were also awarded to the ninth and tenth place students, Javier Miñones Ginarte (from high school Manuel Peleteiro, Santiago de Compostela) and Marc Canela Grimau (from Institut Milà y Fontanals, Barcelona), respectively.

A total of 61 students from high school diploma from all the autonomous communities participated in the test.

Finally, as in previous years, students going to attend to the two international competitions will enjoy a week of specific training around both tests that will take place from June 19 to 23 at the School of Sciences and the CIMA of the University of Navarra.
