Navarre students Jon Lerga and Diego Galán, selected for the international and Iberoamerican phases of the Biology Olympiad

Jon Lerga, second year student of high school program of IES Sancho III el Mayor of Tafalla, and Diego Galán, student of the same course of high school San Ignacio of Pamplona, have been selected to participate in the international and Iberoamerican phases of the Biology Olympiad. Jon Lerga and Diego Galán were champion and runner-up in the local phase of competition, held at the University of Navarra last February 20.

In the national test , which took place this weekend in Valencia, six students from each autonomous community participated. high school diploma from each autonomous community participated. Jon Lerga was among the first four classified, which will constitute the team representing Spain in the International Biology Olympiad, scheduled in Changwon City (Korea) between July 12 and 18. Diego Galán was among the four runners-up, who will participate in the IV Iberoamerican Biology Olympiad, to be held in Lima (Peru).

In addition, the eight winners will prepare for the international test with a stay at the research center Applied Medicine (CIMA ) and at the School of Sciences of the University of Navarra.
