Professor Emilio Forte encourages new graduates to pursue a mission statement of truth, justice and freedom at the service of the Church

21 students from the LXIII promotion of licentiate degree in Canon Law celebrate their graduation ceremony

Canon Law School celebrated on May 22nd the graduation ceremony of the 21 students who are part of the LXIII promotion . The meeting It began with a Eucharist at 11 a.m. and later the academic ceremony took place in the classroom Magna del Central Building , where diplomas, scholarships and graduation caps were presented to the recent graduates.

Professor Emilio Forte was chosen as the sponsor of the class. In his message, he encouraged the new graduates to be active players in the Church, facing current challenges with creativity and commitment. He emphasized the importance of understanding both the Canon Law Latin as the Oriental, core topic to address the diversity of the faithful in a globalized world. He emphasized Pope Leo XIV's call to safeguard Eastern traditions and foster unity among Churches, while respecting diversity. He also called for the cultivation of interiority, listening, and understanding in the face of technological influence. work as a team. And finally, he encouraged the graduates to exercise their vocation with passion, promoting truth, justice, and freedom to build a Church in peace.


 

Jaroslav Maresco Comulka spoke on behalf of the students and thanked the teachers, classmates, family members, benefactors and the University. training and the support received during the three years of licentiate degree .

The event was closed by Dean of the School of Canon Law , Joaquín Sedano , who expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to celebrate graduation in a classroom historical and recalled that the graduates are part of a new stage in the Church, marked by the pontificate of Leo XIV. He stressed the importance of the Canon Law for good ecclesial governance and the challenges they face, such as the inclusion of women, transparency, and the participation of the people of God. He also stated in his message that the new canonists have the mission statement to face these challenges, with the support of their university, and wished them much success in their service to the Church.
