Álvaro Iribarren, first classified of the Navarre Olympiad of Chemistry

Álvaro Iribarren, a second year student at high school diploma of high school Santa Teresa de Jesús, was the winner of the Navarre Olympiad of Chemistry held at School of Sciences of the University of Navarra. The winner will have the opportunity to participate in the national phase of the event that will take place on April 18 in Madrid. Likewise, Peio Ardaiz, from IES Basoko, and David Bronte, from IES Navarro Villoslada, won second and third place respectively.

A total of 48 students participated in the competition, from the schools seminar Padres Reparadores, Santa Teresa de Jesús, Luis Amigó, San Cernin, El Redín, San Ignacio (Jesuits) and the high schools Basoko, Navarro Villoslada, EGA, place de la Cruz and Askatasuna.

The qualifying panel was formed by Carmen Sanmartín, professor at the University of Navarra; Fermín Iribarren, Associate Dean of the high school Oficial de Químicos de Navarra and vice-president of ANQUE; Víctor Martínez, representative of the Public University of Navarra and advisor of Chemistry de high school diplomaand Alfonso Cornejo, representative of the Public University of Navarra
