The box of honor of the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium hosted last Friday the presentation of the III International Solidarity Chess Tournament "Checkmate to Alzheimer's". The event, organized by research center (CIMA) of the University of Navarra and the Real Madrid Foundation, will be held on June 30 and July 1 at the Ciudad Deportiva del Real Madrid. In its third edition, the proceeds from the tournament will be donated to the research Alzheimer's disease research carried out at CIMA and to the Real Madrid Foundation's financial aid for the Elderly Program.

The tournament's presentation was attended by Ricardo Gallego, former player and ambassador of the Real Madrid Foundation; Mariano de Pablos, director of the tournament; Julio González Ronco, director General Manager of the foundation; Javier Olave, trustee of the Foundation for Applied Medical research ; and Alberto Pérez Mediavilla, researcher of CIMA. During the ceremony, Mariano de Pablos said that "we are very grateful to the Real Madrid Foundation, because in this third edition it has become our great ally in the fight against Alzheimer's and also to spread the event to the five continents.
