The Consortium of the City of Toledo, Estudio Costas + Pedrós and Shaw Arquitectos, winners of the sixth edition of the AMAD Awards

With a creative pulse for a greener future, the award-winning projects at the sixth edition of the AMAD Wood Architecture Awards stood out for their innovation and technical excellence. The gala, organized by AITIM, ASA and Onesta, was held last Thursday, September 25 at the postgraduate program of the University of Navarra in Madrid.
In the 'Rehabilitation' category, the Consorcio de la Ciudad de Toledo received the first award for the work "El Corral de Don Diego", located in Toledo. Estudio Costas + Pedrós received the award in the 'Interior Design' category for the interior of the Port Authority of A Coruña. The first award in the 'New Construction' category went to Shaw Arquitectos for the Library at Runnymede College in Madrid.
The jury valued how the projects "highlight the ability to build creatively and sustainably with noble materials," said Elena Guijarro, Dean of the Castilla-La Mancha high school of Architects.
The board was composed of Manuel Fonseca, vice president of ASA; José Enrique Peraza, director of AITIM magazine; Fuensanta Nieto, founding partner of Nieto Sobejano Arquitectos; Elena Orte, founding partner of SUMA Arquitectura; José María Marzo, architect and director of Tectónica; José Manuel Cabrero, director of Chair Madera Onesta; and Marta Sánchez, director of Onesta's Projects Division.
During the gala, three runners-up prizes were awarded in the 'New Construction' and 'Rehabilitation' categories. MADC & Partners received the runner-up prize for the Library of a Thousand Suns and MRM Arquitectos for 39 social rental housing units in Pamplona, both in the 'New Construction' category. Eduardo Marsal, Mónica González and David Landinezpor received the runner-up prize in the 'Rehabilitation' category for El Castillo de Puñonrostro in Madrid.
