The Science Museum of the University of Navarra and the Planetarium of Pamplona are celebrating World Environment Day with a joint plan of activities. Among the highlights are a exhibition of pieces from the Science Museum as well as various workshops for children between six and twelve years old: paint and color; making toys with recycled materials; a vegetable garden in your hands; and observation with a magnifying glass, among others. These activities will be held at schedule from 10:30 am to 2:00 pm.

On the other hand, children can also enjoy the viewing of the children's film "The gardener of the galaxy" at 12:00 and 16:30 hours, and "The dream of flying" to be screened at 18:00 hours. These sessions - dedicated to the celebration of the Environment Day and care of the planet - will combine the viewing of the film with a live explanation of the sky.

The goal of this commemoration is to transmit to the new generations the importance of taking care of the natural environment, as Ignacio López-Goñi, director of the Science Museum has indicated: "There is no plan B, if we destroy the planet, there is no way back. We must educate and raise awareness in society in general, and among young people in particular, that environmental protection is the responsibility of each and every one of us". For her part, Nieves Gordón, communications director of the Pamplona Planetarium, pointed out along the same lines: "all the astronauts who have visited the Planetarium agree on the same thing, and that is that we have a beautiful planet Earth seen from space and that it is worthwhile for all of us to take care of it".

World Environment Day is June 5th. From the Science Museum of the University of Navarra and the Planetarium of Pamplona have wanted to make a family plan of activities on Saturday June 8 in the facilities of the Planetarium.
