You must have a valid European card (EHIC). It is also recommended that you take out supplementary insurance.

They must take out private health insurance that is valid in Spain.

When apply for visa for programs of study, health insurance must meet the following requirements: requirements:

• Full coverage: equivalent to Spanish public healthcare (primary care, specialist care, hospitalization, and emergency care).

• No waiting periods and no copayments 

• Valid for the entire authorized stay.

• Authorized entity: the insurance company must be legally authorized to operate in Spain.

• Repatriation: it is advisable to include coverage for medical repatriation and repatriation in the event of death.
