The project , which addresses addiction in institutionalized elderly people with an approach of research, training transfer, has been recognized by the high school of Psychology of Navarra. The School Nursing at the University of Navarra has actively participated in this initiative, reinforcing its commitment to social and health care focused on the real needs of the elderly population.

The project ran until September 2025 under the direction of Blanca Martínez (IP – ANTOX) and the coordination of Elisa Arbizu. Professor Idoia Pardavila, coordinator of Diploma Care Psychology Degree and representative of the School Nursing at MAGNA, explains that participating in this project "a clear commitment to a relevant social reality that is still insufficiently visible."
For the School, involvement in MAGNA has been particularly significant due to its direct connection with daily internship in residential centers, where nurses continuously accompany elderly people. This proximity allows for early detection of problematic consumption, such as the continued use of hypnotics or habitual alcohol consumption, which often go unnoticed.

"Nurses not only detect signs and risk factors, but also coordinate care, activate resources, and work together with multidisciplinary teams," he emphasizes.
