New students starting at Degree received a welcome session.

The School of Nursing has celebrated the workshop of Welcome to the first year students. 138 new students were given quotation at the beginning of their university stage.
The session began with words of welcome from the dean of School, Ana Choperena, who encouraged future professionals "to take advantage of these four years of Degree to study and get excited about nursing. The University of Navarra and School offer you the necessary tools to be the best version of yourselves".
Secondly, the vice-dean of students and Office of Academic Affairs, Virginia la Rosa, pointed out that "you have chosen a profession that is very fulfilling, but it is also very hard, it is important that you start from now on to mentalize yourselves. Now you are university students and the whole team of the School will be accompanying you so that you can acquire a quality human, scientific and academic knowledge ".
In four years, the students starting degree program this year will become the 70th graduating class of School and the 27th graduating class of Degree. Of the 138 new students in the Degree in Nursing, 11 will complement the Degree with the Diploma in Palliative Care, 30 with the Diploma in Psychology of Caregiving and 25 with the International Nursing Program.
Miren Idoia Pardavila, first year coordinator, also participated to provide information of interest regarding exam dates, courses and seminars, as well as to invite them to participate in Campus Creative and Sports Talent, programs offered by the University for those students who play an instrument or who are federated in a sports team. And, as a final point of the workshop, he moderated a roundtable with two students from the School upper grades, who shared their university experience with their new classmates.

reference letter During the session, the figure of the advisor was also mentioned. Counseling is an indispensable element of the University's project educational , which aims at the integraltraining of students; it provides the student committee and guidance so that they can develop all their potential and make the most of all aspects of university life: "The advisor will help you to face these first weeks of the course. All of you have already been assigned a professor mentor and we encourage you to take advantage of this tool", explained the vice dean.
Antonino Gonzalez also took the floor to explain the dimension of Core Curriculum, as a project educational of the University. "We intend to form the students from the humanistic and social point of view, with a Christian vision of the person, respecting the conscience of each one". This set of transversal subjects, included in all the Degrees of the University, has three objectives "toreinforce the intellectual training , to help the development of the critical capacity and to offer an intellectual framework to integrate knowledge and disciplines".
