The School of Pharmacy and Nutrition of the University of Navarra will offer from next year a new Master's Degree in management sustainable and nutritional innovation in food companies (MINEA), designed to train professionals capable of applying their knowledge in health and nutrition with the goal to develop solutions that improve public health and help in the prevention of diseases. This Master's Degree, which will be taught at the University's campus in Madrid, responds to the growing needs of the food sector in areas of innovation in nutrition and health, sustainability and business profitability. The new program builds on the twenty years of experience professor of the Master's Degree European University in Food, Nutrition and Metabolism (E-MENU), last delivered this year.
"The food sector demands professionals capable of developing healthy and sustainable products. This program will not only provide the necessary knowledge in nutrition and health, but will also train students in management entrepreneurship, preparing them to respond to the needs of today's market," says Professor Amelia Martí, director of Master's Degree. The postgraduate program program will combine advanced training in nutrition and health with subjects such as management and sustainability, marketing and commercialization, as well as leadership, combining theoretical and practical classes supported by IESE methodology and taught by professors and researchers from the University's research center Nutrition. "With all this we want to offer the student a 360º vision of the agri-food sector, so it will open a new horizon in their careers as leaders in research and development+i in the development of healthy products in line with sustainability standards."
One of the differentiating elements of this program is its practicalapproach . Each student will carry out 12 weeks of internships in companies in the food sector, research centers or specialized institutions, where they will have the opportunity to apply and perfect the skills acquired. During this period, each student will have a tutor at business and an academic tutor designated by Master's Degree, thus ensuring supervised and quality learning. "We want our students not only to learn the theory, but also to live the professional experience and integrate in a real way in food companies, contributing significantly to innovation in the area of nutrition," explains Martí.
The Master's Degree has a highly qualified team professor with extensive experience in partnership with food companies. Especially relevant will be the partnership with the research center in Nutrition and its three lines of research in nutrition and molecular metabolism, precision nutrition, and the study of bioactive compounds and functional foods. "The relationship with the research center in Nutrition offers a solid and cutting-edge scientific base, which ensures the quality and relevance of the Master's Degree in such a dynamic sector as the food industry."
In addition, the program will include the participation of leading professionals and experts from the agri-food sector, who "will share their experience and provide an updated vision internship to students, helping them to understand the challenges and opportunities facing the food industry today".
