Fernando Rodríguez is graduate in Pharmacy from the University of Salamanca and is currently doing his paid internship at GSK, as part of the second course of Master's Degree in development Galenic and Manufacturing in the Pharmaceutical Industry (MDGFI). In June she joined the Respiratory Operationsarea , specifically in the Inhaled Liquidsdepartment , which business has in its factory in Aranda de Duero (Burgos).

This department has four production lines, where different formats of Avamys, FANS and BANS, corticosteroids used in allergic rhinitis, are manufactured and conditioned. "During these months I have had the opportunity to get to know and understand the processes, the systematics of work, the equipment used and the documentation employed," explains Fernando. He has collaborated in tasks such as the development and update of standards and courses of training, in the analysis of quality deviations, the daily study of the effectiveness of the lines, the design and compliance with the programming objectives, and the analysis of claims from the different markets.

"I have also participated in various continuous improvement projects, such as the validation of campaign times and the development of a Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), which has been used to analyze the failures that cause the most recurrent market complaints and to establish the appropriate measures to contain them," he says.

On the other hand, these paid internships have allowed Fernando Rodriguez to get involved in the project Data Flow Map as part of the factory's Digitalization strategy, "with which he has mapped the flow of data generated and the different instructions of data where they are stored". It has also participated in the installation of a new filler-crimp machine for one of the production lines at the same time as the PCS7 Software to automate the manufacturing process, the realization of a Value Stream Map to study the bottlenecks of the processes and the classification of the different types of deviations generated during 2019 studying the effectiveness of the established corrective measures.
