Luis Alberiko Gil-Alaña has published together with doctoral students Godfrey Madigu and Héctor Cárcel the chapter "Currency Union in the East African Community".
The researcher of the Navarra Center for International Development (NCID) Luis A. Gil-Alaña, together with doctoral students Godfrey Madigu and Héctor Cárcel, have published a chapter in the book 'Economic Integration, Currency Union, and Sustainable and Inclusive Growth in East Africa'. The volume is part of the book series 'Advances in African Economics, Social and Political Development', from the prestigious publishing house Springer, and is expected to be published before June 2016.
The chapter, a article graduate 'Currency Union in the East African Community', examines the inflation fees of the five countries belonging to the East African Community. East African Communitywhich have recently signed a agreement to outline future plans for a currency union over the next 10 years.
This article is part of the project led by researcher Luis Alberiko Gil-Alaña, 'Project on Macroeconomic and Financial Stability in Developing Economies: Country and Currency unions in Subsaharan Africa'. This project , which is part of the NCID's research lines, uses the latest econometric techniques based on time series analysis such as fractional integration and cointegration.
