Two International Relations students publish articles in the Spanish Institute of programs of study

Two students from Degree InternationalDegree the University of Navarra have recently published articles on the portal the Spanish Institute programs of study (IEEE), a center run by the Spanish Ministry of Defense dedicated to the analysis and dissemination of programs of study security and defense.

Luciana Rodríguez La Barrera is the author of article "Nuclear Weapons and Artificial Intelligence: A Balance Between Automation and the Human Factor," in which she studies the relationship between these technologies and nuclear systems. The work how artificial intelligence can be incorporated into areas such as warning systems and information analysis, and raises the need to maintain human oversight mechanisms and international agreements to regulate its use. "I analyze how artificial intelligence could be integrated into nuclear systems and what implications this would have for global security," she explains. Following the publication of article, she was also interviewed by Intereconomía to discuss her research.

For his part, Alberto Ferreres Fernández signature article "The era of rearmament and the preparation of Spanish industry," in which he studies the defense industry's capacity to take on the increase in expense in the country. The analysis reviews factors such as the sector's productive capacity, technological autonomy, and European cooperation in defense programs. "I wanted to analyze whether, beyond economic resources, there is industrial capacity to materialize this increase in expense, expensehe says. The article developed during his internship at the Higher Center programs of study (CESEDEN) in Madrid.
