The School of Sciences has invested 36 new doctors this academic year : Laura Aguado, Belén Aparicio, Iker Ausejo, Sara Badesso, Rodrigo Caitano, Leyre Basurco, Paula Barlabé, Andrea Bazo, Ángela Bella, Nerea Berastegui, Ester Blanco, German Boch, Assunta Cirella, Álex Clavería, Claudia Di Trani, Aitor Elizalde, Jasmin Elurbide, Amaia Etxebeste, María Flandes, Mónica González, Francisco Javier González, Irene González, Ainhoa Goñi, Ana Guijarro, José María Herranz, Xabier Martínez de Morentín, Javier Melchor, Irene Olivera, Brais Oubiña, Sara del Mar Rodríguez, Juan Antonio Romero, Yaiza Senent, Cátia Simoes, Rosalinda Termini, Laura Torella and Patricia Yárnoz.

The president, María Iraburu, called the new doctors "explorers of truth". "The word explorer refers to those characters - Shackleton, Hillary, Livingstone and Stanley and so many others - who surely fascinated us in our childhood. People who set out to climb a cima, map a desert, find the source of a river or test a theory, always driven by the desire to go where no one had gone before," he explained. Regarding the term truth, it is the object of that tireless search: "The research is necessarily specialized and that can make you lose sight of the fact that every truth, however elementary and limited it may be, is part of the singular truth".

The event was attended by Javier Santos García, Full Professor of the School of Engineering and sponsor of the new graduating class of doctors, and María Lavilla Gracia, PhD in Nursing, who represented the new graduating class.
