The 4th year Biomedical Engineering student, Ekiñe Otegi, participated in the VII edition of Gazte Up.

On Tuesday, November 15, took place the VII edition of Gazte Up, the conference of employment and Youth organized by Diario Vasco. Throughout the morning, several professionals from different fields brought their knowledge and experiences to the young audience gathered in the auditorium of the Aquarium of San Sebastian. 

Under the question " Can we banish old beliefs about the role of women in industry and in the business? Biomedical Engineering Ekiñe Otegi, shared roundtable with the Deputy Minister of employment and Inclusion in the Basque Government, Alfonso Gurpegui, the director of Economic Promotion in the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa, Iker Estensoro and the president of the association EmakumeEkin, Miren Lauzirika. 

 

The speakers discussed the role of women in companies, the role of institutions in promoting the presence of women, thequestions faced by young people when starting their first job work in a constantly changing society, and adapting to the demands of companies.  

Among the attendees at conference, there were several students from high school diplomaEkiñe Otegi, a future engineer, encouraged them to do what they really like "you are going to finish a stage, and I encourage you to do something that you really like, I think there are opportunities, companies are looking for talent, and there women can make a great contribution". 

The workshop, which was developed in bilingual and has the partnership of the Basque Service of employment, the Basque Government and the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa, was presented by the journalist of the Diario Vasco, Itziar Altuna, and was also attended by Begoña González, Co-director of Coaching Camp, Kaisu Tuominiemi, cooperative partner in TZBZ, José Luis Gugel, CEO of The Key Talent and Gloria Múgica, general director of Lanbide.
